The profile of Little Athletics among local children was raised by the recent visit of Sydney coach and Little Athletics NSW development officer Alvin Umadhay to 10 Griffith primary schools.
In a boost to the club, Griffith Little Athletics has a set of new wireless timing gates to accurately record track event times.
Thanks to a grant from NSW Sport and Recreation, West End Oval is being treated to a second permanent discus cage. The two existing shot put areas are also being resurfaced.
Next month the venue will host the Western Riverina Zone Championships, which draws athletes from Leeton, Finley, Deniliquin, Hay, and Narrandera. Successful athletes will qualify for the Regional Carnival.
