Proper assessment of the extent of damage done to an orchard can take weeks after the initial event has taken place.
To date, most hail damage has been reported from growers in the Hanwood and Tharbogang area.
The Griffith and District Citrus Growers association is seeking to evaluate the extent of hail damage to crops in the Griffith district as the NSW Rural Assistance Authority offers a range of assistance measures to affected primary producers if an event is declared natural disaster.
Growers have been urged to report their hail damage to the association by calling Carmel La Rocca on 0412 811 343
