A local process technology business has signed on to support the Griffith International Sculpture Symposium.

Flavourtech signed up for the full $20,000, which covers the cost of a sculpture.
The support means Flavourtech will have a permanent plate located near the sculpture acknowledging the company’s support.
Flavourtech CEO Kon Gryllakis saw the opportunity to sponsor something that will be in Griffith for such a lengthy time was too good to pass up.
“I just see it as a good investment long term,” Gryllakis said.
“If it was $20,000 towards one big party or one big annual celebration, that comes and goes.
“We saw it as good value for money because 20 years from now people will see the sculpture and see Flavourtech sponsored it, it’s a really clever idea.”
Mr Gryllakis also saw the sponsorship as a way to show the company appreciates Griffith.
“The town has been good to us, it’s given us the foundation to grow our business,” he said.
“We wanted to give something back to say we appreciate it and don't take it for granted. This will leave a long term legacy.”
The business got on board after founding member Andrew Craig attended the launch of the symposium.
The pair discussed the prospect and decided to get on board
“Our founding father of the business, Andrew Craig, has always had an interest in the arts,” Gryllakis said.
“When this came along, it served both purposes of focusing on the arts and as well leaving a long term legacy, a long term mark from Flavourtech back to the town.”
Mayor John Dal Broi was thrilled to have the first of five sculptures sponsored and hoped that other businesses would come on board.
“This is the first one sponsored, we are so pleased, we are after five in total and the sculptures will stay here,” Mayor Dal Broi said.
“This concept will commemorate 100 years.
“I did issue a challenge to a couple of the service clubs if they wanted to be part of it.
“Hopefully companies will see Flavourtech get on board and it drums up some interest.”
