A 44-year-old male was treated at Griffith Base Hospital for minor injuries on Saturday after the Toyota Hilux he was driving and a Volkswagen Amarok collided.
About 11.40am he was driving south on the Kidman Way.
The man slowed down to turn into Murrumbidgee River Road at the intersection of the Kidman Way and Murrumbidgee River when the Amarok crashed into it.
The crash caused the Hilux to spin onto the opposite side of the road and roll several times.
The driver of the Amarok was treated at the scene for minor cuts and abrasions.
On Friday night, police were called to Jones Road, Lake Wyangan regarding a reports a car had been driven into the lake.
When police arrived they saw a Ford utility fully submerged in the lake near the parking area on the south side of the bridge on Jones Road.
The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old man, was located nearby.
He said he had been attempting to leave the carpark when he reversed into the lake.
The driver returned a positive result to a breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Griffith police station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned a mid range reading.
The man will appear in court to face a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving while his license was suspended.
About 7pm on Friday police stopped a maroon Hyundai Lantra on Walla Avenue in Griffith for a random breath test.
The driver, a 21-year-old male returned a negative results. However, he was unable to produce his driver’s license.
Checks conducted by police revealed his driver’s license had been disqualified and there was a warrant in existence for a previous drive while disqualified offence.
Further checks revealed the car was not registered and the registration plates on the vehicle were not the correct plates.
The driver was arrested and taken to Griffith police station, where he was charged for offences including drive while disqualified, unlawfully posess numbers plates and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
Police also responded to a home in Gibbs Street in Griffith about 10pm on Saturday.
A birthday party was being held for a teenager.
A number of teenagers were present and police allege some had been consuming alcohol.
Police helped the parent remove party goers from the home and provided a police presence in the area for some time.
