New Zealand imports Tesimoni Taliauli (centre), Tavita Vea (back row) and Kaleni Fraser (front row) are among the players turning out for the Greens, who open the two-day tournament against Junee.
Halden said the trio had slotted in well at Leeton.
“They’re a good bunch of blokes. They’re mingling well with the team," Halden said.
“I’ve heard good things about Kaleni especially, so I’m really keen to see how he goes.”
Other players Halden is interested to watch include Queanbeyan prop Scott Rutland, young forward Josh Nikoro and fullback Josh Fisher.
Halden said the knockout was the Greens’ first hit-out of the pre-season.
“It’s only 15-minute halves, so you can push yourself a bit and before you know it’ll be all over,” he said.
“If we defend well and work for each other, things could happen and we could come off with a win.”
