DBG, operating under its subsidiary Southern Estate Wines Australia, announced the purchase Tuesday morning.
It is understood DBG purchased The Wine Group on Walla Avenue.
SEW executive director Andrew Dal Broi – who is the son of Griffith mayor John Dal Broi – said he intended to “ramp up” production for overseas clients.
The winery is considered a “key asset” to deliver that growth.
The facility was established in the 1970s and includes:
- 20 million litres of storage capacity
- 3000 square metres of cold store warehousing
- 22,000 tonnes of crushing capacity
Andrew Dal Broi said the company had “largely maintained” the winery’s existing workforce.
