A 20-YEAR-OLD Griffith man has been charged with allegedly breaking into homes when residents were asleep.

Griffith police attended a Parkinson Crescent home and arrested the man, who was asleep on the couch.
He was taken to Griffith police station and charged with a number of aggravated break and enter offences.
Police allege residents were asleep at the time the man broke into the homes.
Other offences include break and enter, steal motor vehicle, steal from motor vehicle, enter a dwelling, malicious damage, assault police and possession of a prohibited drug - methamphetamine.
The man is expected to appear in Griffith Local Court on Friday.
Detective Inspector Paul Smith said property thefts were a major issue.
"Although we have seen some reduction in certain property theft categories, others, such as break and enters, continue to be a major issue in Griffith city," Detective Inspector Smith said.
"Your information is not only who is responsible but where they may be staying will assist greatly in the fight against crime."
