GRIFFITH Livefit Gym crossfitters will chase experience more than wins when they test their fitness and strength against other athletes in Albury.
Twelve members of the Livefit box will make up four mixed, a men's and masters team to compete at the Christmas Invitational at Crossfit Albury Wodonga on Saturday.
Livefit head coach Matt Kenny said it was the first major competition for his athletes.
"There's going to be some really good athletes there," he said.
"But I think we'll do good. We'll hold our own.
"It's our first one. We're going down there to see what it's like, have a crack and get ready for the next one."
Crossfit competitions can feature a variety of disciplines including weightlifting, kettlebell swings, skipping, rope climbs, pull ups and gymnastic movements.
Kenny said the workouts would be gruelling.
"You've got athletes from some of the best boxes in Australia going to this," he said.
"It's motivation for our guys to move to that next level and put their skills to the test.
"It's also an opportunity to test themselves. We've been training for a year and a half, so it'll be good to see how we measure up."
Following Saturday's event, Griffith Livefit Gym will host its own crossfit competition for individual athletes on December 6.
Kenny expects the event to attract 50 competitors.
