GRIFFITH premiership-winning coach Seru Rogo says the Blacks will wait until the club's annual general meeting on October 21 before locking in a date for the start of pre-season training.
The Blacks became the 2014 Southern Inland Rugby Union premiers in August when they beat defending champion Albury 16-11 in the grand final.
The result represented the final step of a journey that began in the first week of January, when the Blacks started their pre-season slog in scorching 40-degree heat.
While he will likely follow the same formula and wait until the new year to hold the Blacks' first official training run, Rogo plans to gather his players in December for an informal get-together.
"Before Christmas, we'll probably get the boys together for a little catch up and sit down," Rogo said.
"We'll probably have a barbecue and a meet and greet for the players and coaches, just to see how everyone is going.
"Hopefully things come out good (from the AGM) and we can build from where we left off.
"Not only with the players, but with club management and everything at the club.
"We want to keep moving forward."
Since the premiership triumph, Rogo has been doing his best to unwind from a busy, and at times stressful, year by making a clean break from rugby union.
"This is family time now," Rogo said.
"I spent a lot of time away from my wife, the little boy and the whole family during the season.
"As soon as the grand final finished, I just switched off.
"Even though there were a few little things going on at the club, I wanted to spend time with my family."
But ever the coach, Rogo admits he has already started plotting the Blacks' 2015 premiership assault.
"At the back of my mind, I'm definitely thinking about next year and what's going to happen," he said.
