Ms Annetts wants everyone to know how much of an "amazing" person her grandmother is and believes she was a very worthy winner.
Now a great-grandmother, Mrs Mickan's foray into foster care began about 30 years ago.
While she admits there have been tough times, there has been plenty of happiness as well.

"I didn't like it that much when I was a kid, I wanted my own stuff.
"She's just done so many things and looked after so many children, she amazes everyone."
Mrs Mickan and her husband adopted three children before they had their own son, Jeffery.
Once she started fostering, Mrs Mickan took on two permanent foster kids, who have become part of the family.
"It was just something I always wanted to do," Mrs Mickan said.
"After I had Jeffery I put my name down and that's where it went on from there.
"My mum used to look after kids and I just get a kick out of it.
"I'm just clucky over kids, though babies are really my thing."
The competition, run by the Griffith Lifesource Church, hosted a special event for mums on Saturday, with special guest and parenting expert Maggie Dent.
Runner up Mother of the Year was Robyn Meehan, and the winner of the Children's Section was Shireen Donaldson, nominated by her sons Hugh, 7, and Will, 9.
Minister Rodney Bortolin was please with the turnout at the Regional Theatre on Saturday.
"It's just a great event," Mr Bortolin said.
"Maggie spoke very well and highlighted the need for women to take pride in who they are.
"All the winners were really chuffed and the organisers were very pleased."
