The school’s girls Aussie rules side will represent the MIA after taking out the regional title earlier this year at the gala day held at Exies Oval.
It is the second year running that St Pat’s has progressed to this stage of the competition, and on Thursday they will lock horns with teams from Wagga and Finley to determine the winner of the Greater Western Sydney Giants’ zone.
The victorious team will then move onto the state final, against the winner of the Swans’ zone, which encompasses the Sydney metropolitan area, northern NSW, the Illawarra and the Central Coast.
Games are played on a smaller field using modified 12-a-side rules which allow children who are new to the game to experience and enjoy AFL in a safe and fun environment.
