The proposal would see Mr Piccoli pitted against fellow Nationals MP John Williams - the incumbent member for Murray Darling - in a renamed seat of Murray.
Griffith, Leeton and Carrathool would form part of the new Murray electoral district.
The existing seat of Murray Darling would effectively be split in two, with Broken Hill, Central Darling and Lachlan local government areas being shifted into the Barwon electorate.
Barwon would become the sixth largest electorate (federal or state) in Australia, covering 356,000 square kilometres and 44 per cent of the state.
In other changes outlined in the draft:
- Burrinjuck electorate, currently held by Nationals MP Katrina Hodgkinson, would be renamed Cootamundra.
- Bland, Junee, Coolamon and Narrandera local government areas would move from Murrumbidgee to Cootamundra.
- Upper Lachlan, Boorowa and Yass Valley areas will move to the electoral district of Goulburn.
- Jerilderie and Urana shires would move from Murray Darling to Albury
