A man previously convicted of sex offences has been handed a nine-month jail term after failing to comply with mandatory reporting laws.

The 22-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with his reporting obligations while based at Murrami.
He was sentenced in 2014 for inciting a victim under the age of 10 to take part in an indecent act. The court heard this was the fourth time he had failed to meet requirements.
According to the Child Protection Act, anyone listed on the NSW Child Protection Registry must inform police of a change of address within seven days.
Upon his release from prison, he presented to Bathurst Police station to notify them of his address.

The defendant was informed he would need to contact Griffith Police Station upon arrival, as previously told. He was contacted by Police on March 1, where he was told again he needed to register the move.
Officers attended the home on March 7 after receiving information the defendant had been living at the home for more than two weeks. He was later arrested and taken to Griffith Police Station.
He will be eligible for release after a non-parole period of six months.
