A man has lost his life after being seriously injured in a multiple car crash outside of West Wyalong on Sunday, in the midst of a severe dust storm in the area.

About 10.50am a collision occurred between a Toyota Hilux utility and a semi-trailer in the southbound lanes of the Newell Highway in Mirrool, about 45km south of West Wyalong.
Following this crash, a B-double collided with the rear of the Hilux. Following this, another Hilux, carrying a caravan, swerved into the northbound lanes.
A Mitsubishi Lancer and a Holden Colorado travelling south then stopped and were hit from behind by a bus.
As a result of the crash the 60-year-old man driving the Colorado sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital.

The man later died as a result of his injuries. It is unconfirmed where the man originates from.
The 60-year-old male driver of the bus was uninjured, he was taken to West Wyalong Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
The crash occurred during a severe dust storm in the area, causing visibility issues.
The Newell Highway was closed for several hours while investigations were conducted.
