The Griffith Country Educational Fund (GCEF) presented 13 fortunate MIA university students with grants totaling $20,000 at a presentation at Yenda Producers Co-op Griffith branch on Thursday.

Jack Catanzariti, Ellen Browne, Sally Groat, Liam Greenaway, Callum Hone, Andrew Seton, Darcy O’Donnell, Gorav Bains, Lachlan Condon, Nicola Robinson, Lily O’Keeffe, Daniella Collison and Sophie Tyson were the recipients.
GCEF have now given grants totalling more than $100,000 to 85 local students over the past seven years.
GCEF was establishe to help rural students achieve their post-high school educational goals, recognising they face much higher costs than their urban counterparts.

Yenda Producers Co-op have kicked in $5,000 each of the seven year, while Griffith City Council contribute $3,000 each year. The Rotary Club of Griffith are also supporters.
The Griffith CEF committee is Clare Bowditch, Sally O’Keeffe, Kaye Mossman, Di Robinson, Alex Gilbert, Heath Neville, Frank Nardi, Anne Napoli and Jane McGrath.
