At the fourth time of asking, Griffith has stood up to the challenge and rebounded from a disappointing performance against Leeton in the O’Farrell Cup last time out.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Griffith made a solid start through Andrew Potter and Dean Bennett who got their side to 39.
When Dylan Koop took the wicket of Bennett (14), West Wyalong was looking to get Griffith onto the back-foot, but with Reece Matheson coming to the crease Griffith remained in good hands.
West Wyalong captain Al Edis was able to make the prized breakthrough when he knocked over Matheson (9) after being hit for four by the young wicket-keeper the ball before.
Lucas Conlan has shown his talent in recent representative games and continued his good form as with Potter, the pair were able to get their side past the 100 run mark in 17 overs.
Even after Conlan (14) fell to the bowling of Jacob Bell, Brady French (12) joined Potter to get the score to 120 before Bell (2/47) took the wicket of French.
Ryan Greenaway took up the charge with Potter (72) and even after the opener was finally dismissed for Greenaway continued the push for runs late in their innings. Greenaway (37) and Griffith captain Satvir Chahal (10*) saw Griffith finish on 184 after 37 overs.
In reply, West Wyalong was in trouble from the first over of the innings and never recovered. Angus Green (2) fell in the first over to the bowling of Chahal, and the accuracy of Chahal would prove to be the problem in their innings.
It was a case of you miss I hit for Chahal when he knocked over Al Edis (0) before Dean Bennett took a catch off the bowling of the Griffith captain to dismiss Mick Keatley to see the visitors fall to 3/6.
Connor Bock joined the wicket-taking party which Chahal again involved after Rahul Kumar (3) skied his shot towards mid-off before Chahal had his fourth wicket with the next ball when he bowled Ben Johnstone (0).
When Chahal took the wicket of Koop in his next over West Wyalong were in trouble of a complete annihilation sitting at 6/8 after eight overs. Bell and Rob Edis were able to get their side to 31 with a 23-run partnership before Conlan took a great diving catch at cover to send Bell (17) packing.
Dave Barron was the final West Wyalong batsmen to fall as Chahal picked up his sixth wicket which saw him finish with figures of 6/3 after 5.1 overs, which included three maidens, to see West Wyalong bowled out of 45 inside 17 overs.
