The man was a passenger in a campervan when stopped on the Sturt Highway near Hay last August during a random breath test.
Police say a subsequent search of the campervan turned up 10 kilograms a crystal substance concealed under abed and $2000 in cash. The substance was later found to the the drug ‘ice’.
Police allege they saw two unrestrained passengers – the accused and a five-year-old boy – in the back of the van.
He and the driver of the car were released pending further inquiries and issued traffic infringement notices relating to unrestrained passengers.
He has since been charged with supplying a prohibited drug in a large commercial quantity.
Police searched his home on October 31, allegedly seizing, among other things, $40,000 cash, financial documents, encrypted mobile phones.
He remained in custody until his appearance in Central Local Court in Sydney on January 18.
According to his bail conditions, he must surrender his passport to NSW Police, wear an electronic monitoring device, report to the police every day and stay within the Sydney Metropolitan area.
