It was a case of one door closing and another opening for Eliza Ammendolia who played a key role in NSW 18 years and under girls football side at the Pacific School Games.

After concussion ruled Ammendolia out of the W-League season, it gave her the chance to fulfil one of her ambitions.
“It was a bit upsetting, but it allowed me to do this tournament which I had always wanted to do and I have always wanted to make Aussie Schoolgirls,” she said.
The young footballer made the most of her chance with the NSW side finishing unbeaten to take out the tournament while Ammendolia was named the player of the tournament as well as selection in the Australian Schoolgirls side.
“Was pretty happy with that,” she said.
“We took on all the other states and territories as well as a few other countries like China and India.
“The ones coming from overseas weren't the strongest of teams, but they still put in a good fight.”
Ammendolia now awaits to find out the details of the schoolgirl's tour with talks of Japan exciting the talented footballer.
The step from schoolgirls to national side is the next in the sights for Ammendolia.
“It is always the goal, and hopefully it can happen someday soon,” she said.
