A concerned resident has posted to “I live in Coleambally” Facebook site about her daughter’s scary encounter with someone posing as a police officer.
This comes after two reported incidents around Narrandera earlier in June.
At 1.20 am Sunday on the foot path outside a Griffith hotel, a 20-year-old female was treated for an overdose, stating that she had taken N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) during the evening.
Inspector Wayne McLachlan from Griffith LAC wishes to warn patrons and others about the dangers of these so-called party drugs, saying he has seen an increase of adverse reactions within the MIA region.
“I can’t say whether or not these reactions are occurring from overuse or from how the drugs are manufactured, but it’s most likely a combination of both” he said.
Meanwhile, Griffith LAC engaged in a chase of a vehicle who failed to pull over for a random breath test at 12.50 am on Sunday morning.
A 25 -year-old male was driving in a southerly direction on Murrumbidgee Avenue, and when police attempted to stop the vehicle for a random breath test, the vehicle turned on to Sidlow Road and accelerated away from police.
The male then commenced to run from police on foot and was then arrested.
Police searched the man, and located marijuana and methamphetamine on his person.
