Although three men were convicted of conspiring to murder Mr Mackay, and a Royal Commission named six other men who may have ordered the killing, no-one has ever been charged with his murder.
So how can this be?
Three people were convicted of conspiracy to murder Donald Mackay in Victoria yet not one of them was ever charged with murder of Donald Mackay in NSW.
Surely this indicates that despite Det. Supt. Rowan's claims about an 'ongoing inquiry' there has never been any desire by the NSW police to solve the murder.
Det. Supt. Rowan states he is unavailable for interviews. Surely it is the duty of the media to ask him to explain why after forty years the NSW police have never charged anyone with the murder?

On rising Griffith house prices
Prices will not go down until single blocks can be sold.
At the moment Council buys an area and sells to developers, at whatever price they can get.
Sales by developers gives them the ability to charge what THEY like. \
They do the designs, the infrastructure and then have the right to sell, at whatever they can get.
And then the Council's restrictions on the fencing, and the driveway, add more cost.
And people scream that, "the young all want flash houses from the start" - hooey.
The kids are trying to buy whatever is available and/or within their price range.
The days have gone where a couple could buy a block, build a garage and live in that whilst they built the house as they could afford it.
So lets not be too hard on the young.
And I agree with Jan Broom - many houses are overpriced.

On Griffith’s temporary water source
It's so unfair as water is needed every day and the public has no choice but to drink it, make cups of tea and coffee, cook with it, make up babies formulas, shower with it and know that take away food has probably come in contact with it.
Council needs to inform us and I seriously would like a independent test done on its safety.
Remember the lake water is run off from the surrounding farms which already contain fertilizers and chemicals from the crops.
Doesn't matter how hard we try to eat, drink and live healthy, we are at the mercy of others.

Cultural funds injection
The region can share in part of $100 million being invested into regional villages, towns and cities through a new Regional Cultural Fund announced in the 2017 NSW Budget.
The Regional Cultural Fund is exciting news for a range of potential new projects that could benefit in the region.
So if there is a gallery in Wentworth that needs to be built or a small museum in Balranald that needs a lick of paint or a theatre group in Leeton or Moama with a new project, I encourage them all to apply.
There are small, medium and large funding pools for projects from a couple of hundred dollars to $5 million. Specific funds are reserved for new programming projects.
Expressions of Interest and applications for the Regional Cultural Fund will open from July 17, 2017. Successful projects will be invited to provide additional information.
For further information and guidelines for applicants visit www.create.nsw.gov.au.
