James Clark, Summer Carlon and Poppy Carlon were quick on the uptake, calling triple zero after seeing the smoking house.
“We were riding our bikes down the road to go to the park, and then we stopped and saw a lot of smoke” James said.
“Poppy knocked on the house next door, and while she did that I whipped out my phone and called triple zero” he said.
“I didn't think anything of it at first, but it started getting worse, with flames coming out of the garage” Summer said.
“We kept shouting out ‘is anyone in there’, but no one answered” Poppy said.
Griffith’s Fire and Rescue NSW’s Eddy McDonald said there was a fire in the back garage of the property, and while it’s early in the investigation, no one was hurt and there is nothing to indicate suspicious circumstances.
