McCabe missed their seven-point loss to CSU before having his three-game ban overturned on appeal.
Two Blues coach Darren Jackson declined to comment on the tribunal but couldn’t help but wonder whether McCabe might have changed the result.
“Very disappointing,” Jackson said. “He could’ve made a hell of a difference.”
A lag between hearings is unavoidable and AFL Riverina says the tribunal and appeals process was followed.
Jackson believes the Two Blues are closing in on a breakthrough victory.
“It’s going well, we’re very close,” he said. “We just have that lapse for 10 minutes here and there.
“We’re not getting beaten by much but we’ve just got to get one win over the line. We’ve got to learn how to win.”
The Two Blues also secured former Griffith Swans midfielder Tim Matheson this week but he hasn’t been named in the seniors for Saturday’s game against EWK.
But they’re expecting a fired up Hawks outfit to make the trip to Barellan.
“They’re a very good side, we’ve just got to be confident we can go with them,” Jackson said.
“Obviously they’re going to be favourites. Gav (McMahon’s) a good coach, he’ll have them up and about after the week off and primed to do something.”
