While the side is yet to win a game this season coach Ange Cirillo said that isn’t their goal.
“The main focus of the group is to work as a team,” he said.
“We have our own goals and we are just out their to have fun.”
Hanwood has started the season strongly and is one of two teams who are still undefeated following the first three rounds of the competition.
The side has also had success in the Bill Cullinan Cup where they progressed to the fourth round following a 2-0 win last weekend.
In City’s last game before a break last week due to the State Cup action they fell 4-1 to Yoogali FC Two.
Heading into the clash there is not mistaking the difficulty of the task at hand according to Cirillo.
“They are one of the favourites to take out the competition,” he said.
“We are a completely different group of players by comparison to those guys.
“A result for us against these guys could be picking up a 2-0 loss rather than it being a complete drubbing.
“We are under no illusion on what the result will be.”
The difficult of the clash will be increased for Griffith City with a couple of players unavailable for the Sunday afternoon clash.
“I’m away, but we should also have a couple of players coming back as well,” he said.
“I know there are some players who are unavailable but we will have a much clearer picture of the team following training tomorrow (Thursday) night.”
The match will be the second held at Hanwood Oval on Sunday afternoon with kick off slated for 3pm
