Following significant support shown by the small community Council announced on Tuesday its young residents would soon benefit from a playground facelift in the coming months.
“The playground redevelopment includes installation of new playground equipment, a shade sail, seating as well as playful art work and will be a welcome relief from the ageing equipment that currently resides in the park,” Griffith Mayor John Dal Broi said.
The Nericon community weighed in with their two cents in developing their own project, throwing their encouragement behind the project.
“Council held several community consultation sessions which were strongly attended with residents sharing a number of ideas for the park,” Cr Dal Broi said.
Council said the park was earmarked as a priority to be upgraded as part of Griffith’s Playground Strategy.
