IT WILL be another big Easter weekend in town with the annual Griffith Easter Party returning, from Thursday April, 13 to Monday, April 17.
The best place to start is by picking up a copy of the Griffith Easter Party program to plan long weekend activities with friends and family.
Chairman of the tourism & events committee Councillor Christine Stead said the weekend was always popular.
“You can take advantage of a local winery tour, or pack a picnic and enjoy one of our many parks or even visit one of the local open gardens,” Cr Stead said.
“Whether it’s action or relaxation you are after, I can guarantee we have something for you.”
Good Friday early risers can take part in the Bacchus Fun Run and then take the family along to the annual Pioneer Park Action Day.
“Once a year the museum roars to life giving locals and visitors the opportunity to step back in time and see how things were done in the area back in the good old days,” Cr Stead said.

Manager tourism and economic development Greg Lawrence agreed that Easter was always a fantastic time in Griffith and this year’s Easter Party would be no exception.
“The calendar is full of events for everyone … you can be assured there is something for you to do this Easter,” Mr Lawrence said.
“Take a stroll through the Griffith CBD on Easter Saturday – you’ll enjoy the atmosphere and family fun. This is a great opportunity to support our local businesses and have an amazing time doing it.”
The Children’s Brunch with face painting, Easter egg hunt and craft activities continues to be a favourite spot for young families.
“Stop by CWA Park and enjoy activities and entertainment; a great way to start the day,” Mr Lawrence said.
The V8-powered jet sprint boats are back in 2017, offering non-stop thrills and excitement at Lake Wyangan Boat Club.
Sunday is a day to rest, relax and regroup and the wineries in the region will be opening their doors. Enjoy local wine, catering, live music and activities for the children.
The Griffith Easter Party guide will be a necessity, with copies available at the Griffith Visitor Centre or online at www.GriffithEasterParty.com.au.
Cr Stead encouraged visitors and residents to explore the area and enjoy all that Griffith has to offer over Easter.
“Grab a guide, your family and friends and head to Griffith for a fantastic weekend of fun, food, wine and activity,” she said.
“You’ll have a ball at the Griffith Easter Party.”
