The Griffith community has been left outraged following the sentencing of a Taiwanese masseuse who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy during a massage in June.

Renjie Jhuang was jailed until at least 2020 in the Griffith District Court after originally being charged with with indecently assaulting a person under 16 years of age and two counts of have sexual intercourse with person over 10 and under 14 years.
Police were contacted after the boy told his mother about the ordeal.
The NSW Police State Crime Command’s child abuse squad began investigations following the incident, leading to the arrest of the 30-year-old Taiwanese National that afternoon.
Jhuang has been in jail since his arrest, making no application for bail in an earlier court appearances, though bail was formally refused by the Magistrate at the time Kate Thompson.
