25-year-old Jenna, who now goes by the stylist name Jenna Maree, had her whirlwind adventure begin in June 2016 when she received a phone call from the Double bay salon Juliana Marc's .
Now in her element, Jenna is easily becoming a stylist to the stars with her clientele consisting of stars including Firass Darani, Zoe Marshal and Steven Khalil, one of Australia’s leading wedding dress designers.
She began by undertaking training in LA before making the pilgrimage across the Blue Mountains and shaping her new life in Sydney, in November last year.
“This felt incredible, and took me by surprise,” Jenna said.
“For a while I had lost a little motivation, and I think a change of scenery is what I needed.”
This talented stylist recalled her earliest memories of childhood.
For most girls, seeing their prized barbie doll hairless would be their biggest nightmare.
Not for Jenna though, this was the start of a lifelong journey to make her vision come to fruition.
Unsuspected dinner guests would be shown to the bathroom were they would participate in a makeover.
This three year old knew what she wanted and wasn’t taking no for an answer.
Jenna began cutting and colouring hair at the tender age of 12, five years later at the age of 17, she was recognised as the region’s top young hair stylist.
She received a gold medal in 2011 at WorldSkills Australia regional finals held in Wagga, progressing to the national finals in Sydney and going head-to-head with young stylists from across the country.
This young lady isn’t standing still, forging her carrier in what’s widely renowned as an unforgiving industry.
She has recently been selected as part of the team to travel to LA to participate in Fashion Week.
You could say Jenna was born into her chosen field, the daughter of Donna Piromalli a well-known former hairdresser in Griffith.
Paying tribute to her mum, Donna, Jenna conceived her passion for hairdressing is a product of her mother’s outstanding work ethic and love for the industry.
“Mum has been my role model and my mentor.”
