Having won the toss and electing to bat Coro’s Tim and Rob Rand made a decent start to the innings putting on 17 for the first wicket.
Satvir Chahal struck to take two early wickets in the form of Tim Rand (6) closely followed by Dean Bennett (0).
After Coro captain Haydn Pascoe (4) fell to his Leagues counterpart Paul Plummer, Coro found themselves in a precarious position of 3/37.
Tom Valeri and Rob Rand combined to get Coro moving in the right direction lifting the side with a 26 run partnership before Plummer struck again to remove Valeri (11) and Rand (28) followed soon after.
Jono Morris and Shane Makea fought back with a partnership of 45 to get their side over the 100 mark before Morris (22) was dismissed.
Makea (36) and Mitchell Williams-Hedges (11) combined late in the innings to boost the score to 7/137 off their 40 overs.
Plummer was pleased with his sides bowling efforts.
“We were really tight all the way through,” he said.
“Disappointed not to bowl the out but to get them for 138 was a great effort.”
The response didn’t start as well as Leagues would have hoped with Logan Matheson (1) falling early.
Ben Leach (9) and Andrew Madden (7) got the side moving in the right direction however it was short lived as Leagues found themselves at 4/39.
Reece Matheson was establishing himself while partners fell around him but eventually teamed up with Chahal (9) as they put on 25.
When Plummer came to the crease to replace Chahal, Matheson told him exactly what they needed to do.
The pair did it well putting on another 20 runs before Plummer fell to Shane Makea (1/27).
Harry Singh (11*) came into to bat with Coro almost able to taste victory however with Matheson (44*) the pair put on 28 runs to get the side home with three overs remaining and two wickets in hand.
“It was just a fantastic effort for Reece,” he said.
“He just showed how good a batter he is going to be in the years to come.”
