Not happy just to sit around, Matt is asking the Griffith community to clean out the shoe cupboards to help our Fijian neighbours.
“I had seen a post from a mate in Wollongong, James is getting as many footy boots as he can for the young kids,” Mr Moon said.
“They have lost everything, so said mate why not help?
“People can sit around and do nothing or they can do something.
“If our community can get behind these kids and put a smile on their faces, well why not?”
Knowing Griffith and its big heart when it comes to children and helping a mate in need, Matt is hoping to collect a couple of hundred pairs of boots.
With that he is hoping to be able to send over some old soccer balls, footballs and other sporting equipment lying around and not being used anymore.
“The kids really appreciate that sort of stuff,” Mr Moon said
“If any parents are like myself, you have kids old footie boots laying around.
“You just leave them there, so you know what lets do something with them.
“If they are going to make the kids happy lets send them over.
“I think its such a small thing the community can do, to get such a big result.”
Those able to drop off donations of boots or sports equipment can do so at Base Fitness located under Glamour, where you will find a box at the bottom of the ramp.Good will be delivered on March 10.
