Money to purchase an industrial dishwasher and new containers and to supply power came from council’s 2016 community grants helping the service to continue its good work, according to Barbara Penninga.
“It is great to now be able to wash up those big dishes we use, this will help us improve food safety and hygiene,” she said. “It will also save our volunteers a lot of time and so we are really pleased to take the load off them.”
Chair of council’s communities committee Councillor Anne Napoli said it was fantastic to be able to support a service providing something so necessary to those who are disadvantaged.
