After winning the toss and electing to bat Hanwood started decently with captain Dean Catanzariti (14) and Michael Crosato putting on a 17-run partnership despite the rain from the day before.
“The conditions were pretty good,” he said.
“The pitch was true and the only movement was really coming from the moisture in the air. There wasn’t too much in the pitch.”
When Crosato fell for 17 to the bowling of Duane Ashcroft, it brought Jamie Whitworth (14) to the crease with he and Catanzariti lifting the side to 32 before the pair fell in quick succession.
Jason Bertacco and Luke Shannon set about restoring the flow of the innings with a solid 26 run partnership.
Again two quick wickets fell with Bertacco falling to the bowling of Marc Tucker (2/30) while Jamie Winkler (2/18) dismissed Shannon.
We always thought our bowlers would give us a good chance.

Charlie Cunial (9) and Cameron McWhirter (9) provided some more runs for their side to boost their side towards 100 before Jack Rowston (13) hit some late runs to get the side to 116 before they were bowled out in the thirtieth over.
Ashcroft was by far Exies best bowler only going for 10 runs off his seven over picking up three wickets along the way.
Catanzariti said his side approached the second innings with confidence.
“We always thought our bowlers would give us a good chance," he said.
“Everyone pitched in bowling wise with Charlie (Cunial) and Dean (Wynne) picking up key wickets.”
Hanwood showed their confidence was well founded as they applied the pressure to Exies.
Wynne picked both openers, Tucker (2) and Craig Burge (4), as well as Micheal Shepherd (0).
Cunial was just as destructive from the other end picking up the wickets of Phil Burge (1), Jimmy Mann (6) and Jamie Winkler (2) to have Exies struggling at 6/19.
It was always going to be a tough task for Exies from there, but Ashcroft tried to replicate his form with the ball and save his side.
A 24-run partnership with Sam Casey (0) before Catanzariti struck (2/32).
Tom Fuller (7) attempted to help Ashcroft get their side closer to the target but again Catanzariti broke the partnership as it started to look promising.
Connor Bock (19) and Cameron Harrison (11) provided some lower order resistance with the pair getting the side to 93, however, Harrison when was caught off the bowling of Todd Argus (1/14) Exies were bowled out 24 runs short of victory.
