Doctor Amelia Bunker from Griffith Animal Hospital said pet owners should take the necessary steps to minimise snake habitats and reduce the risk to their pets.
Ms Bunker urged pet owners to seek immediate veterinary treatment if they suspect their pet has been bitten by a snake.
