WATSON scored a hard fought win over Johnson in this week’s round. Watson’s score of 5-86 (average 17.2) relied on an innings of 15 from Keiran Casey and 14 from Nate Sergi. Daniel Bourke picked up two wickets for Johnson, as did Kadon Collins. Johnson’s batsmen fell just short, scoring 4-58 (average 14/5). Seamus Maley topped the scoring for Johnson with 16 runs. Angus Argent Smith helped the score along with 10 runs, Logan Woodland, Sean Garcia and Meli Ranitu all took a wicket for Watson.

Cummins had to work hard to overcome the challenge from Warner. Cummins chalked up a solid 7-103 (average 14.6) and Warner replied with 9-95 (average 10.4). Christian Dall’Est again proved a matchwinner, scoring 33 for Cummins. Bodhi Brady also did well to score 25. Owen Robinson starred with the ball, capturing three wickets for Warner, Owen also top scored for Warner with 20 in their turn at the crease. Jacob Serafin chipped in with 18 and Ajay Chilby made 16. Nick McGibbon bowled a very effective spell to take three wickets for Cummins. Tomas Goirigolzarri and Bodhi Brady picked up two wickets each.
Runs were hard to come by in Smith’s win over Lyon. Lyon made 4-44 (average 11) and restricted Lyon to 4-20. Digby Jones with 14 and Patrick Mickan (13) led the runmaking for Smith. Wickets were shared between Nick Codemo, Caelan Culgan, Angelo Licastro and John Favero – Favero also top scored for Lyon with nine runs. Asad Ali was Smiths most successful bowler with two wickets.
Another competitive contest was played between Starc who made 3-75 (average 25) and Clarke who challenged with 7-115 (average 16.4). Matt Devery was again in form hitting up 18. Archie Forwood made 14 and Noah Punteriero added 13. McKenzie Hassan, Austin Flack and Oliver Young all took a wicket for Clarke. Cooper Rand led Clarke’s runscoring with 27. Hassan also batted well for 21 and Joseph Macri added 17. Noah Punteriero snared three wickets.
Player of the week is Bohdi Brady whose efforts for Cummins just surpassed Noah Punteriero. Practice continues Wednesday at Exies nets at 5pm.
