Breast cancer is something touching many people with around 46 a day being diagnosed.
The hope was that the event would help in raising some financial support to an organisation that does such great work in and around the community as well as promoting awareness.
Griffith Real Estate’s Tony Santolin felt this was a great first party event.
“We were really pleased with how the night turned out,” he said.
“We are already planning on how we can go one better next year. We want to start the build up earlier and it would be nice if we were able to get more businesses involved.
“We will be having a meeting in July with the current participants and will be looking for ways to get more of the town involved.”
Last year the entire Pink Up Griffith event raised over $25,000 for Breast Cancer Care Nurses and Mr Santolin was hoping they would easily eclipse that.
“We will be contacting the businesses involved to start bringin in the buckets filled with the money they have collected and we will start counting that on Monday,” he said.
“We will still be auctioning off items to keep the money flowing in for the worthy cause so it may still be a while ”
Mr Santolin said Griffith should be proud of the contribution that has been made.
“We had close to 100 business involved in Pink Up Griffith,” he said.
“The town should be proud of how many people stepped forward to take part in an event that raises money for something as important as this.
“We encouraged all involved to send photos through so that we were able to share the support they were showing.”
The crowd at the party was kept entertained with performances from talented Griffith musicians Janae Rosa, Ian Ippoliti and Lilly Duxbury.
“With anything like this it starts with a movement and this was our beginning as we look to make the event bigger and better next year,” Mr Santolin said.
