977 participants registered for the day, raising a grand total of $13,665 which on Wednesday was distributed to Robin Mataora, who is battling leukaemia, the Hanwood Rural Fire Brigade and the Griffith Suicide and Prevention Group.
Organiser Michelle Parr said they owed the success of the day to the local businesses who came on board to support them and said the event is set to run again next year thanks to the funds raised and the support of the Griffith golf club who have again agreed to host.
The three recipients expressed their gratitude with Robin’s mother Kitty saying the community’s support had been a great help to the family to pay essential costs like rent and transport to appointments. “A big thank you to Griffith, the community are amazing it is so wonderful they have included Robin in this,” she said.
