The Nitro Circus is set to perform in Griffith for the first time ever.
Fans have the chance to witness the circus performers’ death-defying stunts and mind-blowing tricks that have captivated sold-out audiences world-wide.
Nitro Circus’ daredevils, arguably the greatest action sports stars on the planet, will perform choreographed riding routines in freestyle motocross (FMX), BMX and skate.
Highlights include the explosive ‘Nitro Bomb’ which will feature all riders simultaneously flipping through the air.
During FMX trains, riders slice and dice, wheel-to-wheel mere centimetres apart before descending to earth for a smooth landing.
The famous Nitro Giganta ramp is the centrepiece of the action and launches brave Nitro Circus riders high above the crowds while attending another flurry of jaw-dropping tricks on ridiculous contraptions including trikes, a recliner and a bath.
The circus has performed to sold-out crowds across the world.
The circus will roll into Griffith for the first time ever in March in 2017. Tickets go on sale on October 16.
The Nitro Circus is renowned for playing at legendary arenas including Madison Square Garden in New York and the O2 in London.
More than 35,000 people packed Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium, site of the 2010 soccer World Cup final for a massive 2014 show and 45,000 people filled Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, the second highest attendace orf any touring act at that venue.
Nitro Circus chief executive officer Michael Porra said the tour would give businesses a welcome financial boost.
He said the show’s arrival would likely draw thousands of people to Griffith.
“Hotels, restaurants, bars and practically every other business in Griffith will benefit from having Nitro Circus in town,” Mr Porra said.
“Through audience research we’ve seen that fans are blown away, saying it’s the most exciting show they’ve ever seen.
“We’re thrilled to bring an event that has sold out huge stadiums across the globe to these new cities.”
Mr Porra said the circus’ touring party alone consisted of 81 staff, including 36 athletes and 12 semi trailers.
“Griffith will know when we have arrived,” he said.
“I’d also like to applaud the local council, who were extremely influential in getting us to Griffith.
“We will repay the locals with a night they will remember for a long time.”
Nitro Circus placed 22nd in Forbes magazine’s 2015 list of America’s Most Promising Companies.
The circus had humble beginnings in 2003, with Jeremy Rawle, Gregg Godfrey and extreme sports superstar Travis Pastrana producing DVDS from a Utah garage.
This was followed by a smash TV series which has aired in more than 60 countries.
In 2012, Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D was released in cinemas across the world.
The performers have taken their acts across five continents, blown away more than two million fans and sold out shows in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, the Middle East and South Africa.
