In B grade, the Swans were down by just two goals at the end of the first quarter.

Ganmain changed its shooters and outscored Griffith by seven in the second.

The second half was much closer as the Swans won the fourth quarter but lost the match 40-31.  Bertons player’s player: Sarah Young. McDonalds coach’s award: Sarah Connelly.

A strong start in the A Reserves saw Griffith up by to goals at the first break. A change in personal saw Ganmain claw its way back and win 55-42. Player’s player: Philippa Wordsworth. McDonalds coach’s award: Kiera Argus.

Things didn’t start well for the Swans in A grade.

Griffith started a shooter down against an experienced Ganmain outfit who took full advantage.

Ganmain made it hard for the Swans who struggled to get the ball to the attacking end of the court.

A combination of unforced errors by Griffith and constant pressure from Ganmain saw the Swans go down 49-24. Bertons player’s player: Sarah McCluskey. McDonalds coach’s award: Renae Larkin.

The Griffith Swans will hold their mid-season ball on June 18.
