Pike was teammates with Yenda co-coach Michael Mogliotti at Tullibigeal-Lakes United last year and Pike knows what Mogliotti – and the Blueheelers – are capable of.
“I reckon they'll be tough, even though they haven’t had a great start to the season,” Pike said.
“They're searching for a win and they only just got beaten by Hay [last week] so they won't be pushovers, that's for sure.”
Like Yenda, the Greens are coming off a loss from last week’s games.
Leeton went down 42-26 to rivals Yanco-Wamoon in round six of the Group 20 rugby league competition.
The defensive performance wasn’t up to Pike’s standards and the Leeton coach made it a focus this week.
“I gave them a fair talking to after the game and how we were disappointed in the poor defence,” Pike said.
“The best thing about footy is you play terrible one week and you have seven days to get it right again.”
A logjam on the ladder is starting to appear and a win for Yenda would put them as close as two points away from the top five whilst a win for Leeton could lift the Greens as high as second position on the ladder.
