Thre number of domestic violence related assaults rose by 31.6 per cent in 2015, with 246 incidents reported.
That was an increase from 187 in 2014 and is a rate of 1035.9 per 100,000.
The average rate across NSW is 397.2 per 100,000.
The alarming statistic from the latest Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research report puts the city in the top five places where domestic violence related assaults occur.
The report also reveals there were 177 non domestic violence related assaults in Griffith in 2015.
There were also 19 sexual assaults, 196 break and enters into homes, 63 cars stolen and 231 reports of items being stolen from a vehicle.
Retail stores were targeted 151 times by thieves, there were 120 fraud incidents and 332 malicious damage to property offences.
In Carrathool, there were 21 domestic violence related assaults, 12 non domestic violence related assaults, 10 break and enters to homes and five cars stolen.
In Leeton, there were 68 domestic violence related assaults, 56 non domestic violence related assaults, 13 sexual assaults, 72 break and enters to homes, 42 cars stolen and 126 reports of malicious damage to property.
