“Judging this year has been exceptionally tough,” he said.
“With so many of the applicants being high achievers with a strong list of performances and backed up by some really good video evidence.
“If the quality of the submissions are anything to go by then Wednesday evening’s awards night will be spectacular providing something for everyone.”
He said the competition was about much more than just establishing finalists and a winner.
“Every single entrant receives a letter giving them individual feedback on their entries,” he said.
“This is in keeping with how Griffith Musician’s Club sees the awards as a real opportunity to nurture and develop talent in the Griffith district.
“We didn’t want to fall into the trap of just naming a winner and not getting back to anyone else.
“We know that there is a lot of work in getting an application together.
“We feel that we owe it to our young musicians to give them feedback and encouragement.”
Performing on the night will be Jasmine Boyland, Rachel Warren, Lara Camm, Nathan Morris, Theresa Nardi, Megan Beecher, Max Jones, Harriet Kelly and Banavan Thevashangar.
The presentation night is on Wednesday, April 6 of April at the Regional Theatre.
Doors open at 6.30 with performances to kick off just after 7.00pm.
Entry is free.
