In October, Overs told The Area News he was going to take a step back and assess his future but after a clean bill of health he is raring to go.
The 26-year-old will wait for a final OK from his GP but his body is telling him everything is fine.
“I haven’t seen any specialists yet but I’m feeling as good as I ever have,” Overs said.
“I haven't had any headaches and my thoughts are very clear.
“I’m going back to see my normal doctor and see what he says but at this stage I’m feeling 100 per cent.”
Overs and his Barellan outfit hit the training paddock on Monday for the first time this year.
Fitness is the top priority for Overs who said the numbers at training were encouraging.
“We started on Monday. We had about 25 there, so a really positive start,” Overs said.
“There was about six other guys who got in touch and said they couldn’t make it, so there’s about 30 blokes who are keen.
“We are training three times a week.
“We are getting straight into it to try and get the kilometres in the legs and hit round one at full steam. We will knock it back to two times a week when the season starts.”
Overs confirmed the club had lost three players.
Forward Tom Conlan has signed with Hume Football League club the Billabong Crows while ruckman Tom Brown is moving away, either overseas or to Melbourne.
Lastly, Louis Andrews – who travelled from Sydney last year for games – won’t be making a return due to the rigours of travel.
Despite the losses, Overs remains confident of locking in a competitive list for 2016.
“At this stage we are still looking to nail a couple players down,” Overs said.
“There’s a few not far off that have been coming down to training to check it out.
“We’d love more depth over the whole field but more midfielders would allow myself, personally, to go forward a bit more and another key forward would be ideal.”
Barellan took out the unwanted wooden spoon last year after claiming just the one win all season.
Barellan will start its 2016 campaign against Charles Sturt University on April 9.
