The Panthers are backing up their most successful summer in recent memory after winning the one-day title and reaching the grand final of the two-day competition.
With a high standard set, Plummer said the challenge for the Panthers was either to reach or exceed that level.
“Every game you play brings you one step closer to it (success),” he said.
“The last couple of years we’ve showed what we can do, but we just need to be more consistent.”
The Panthers open their season with a 40-over match against 2014-15 minor premiers Hanwood and are hoping to reproduce their early form of last year.
Leagues Club were the dominant side of the opening month and didn’t drop their first match until round five.
With a near identical squad at his disposal, Plummer wants another fast start to set up a premiership tilt.
“We started off strong last year and it would definitely be good to win our first game,” he said.
“But like I said, we have to be more consistent. Last season we sort of died off for a while near the end (of the season).”
Early points will be vital for every team with premiership ambitions. Only five points separated second from fifth last summer, the make-up of the finals not decided until the final round.
Plummer expects the competition to be just as tight again.
“The last two years it’s been close, and I think that shows the strength of Griffith cricket,” he said.
