Robertson has served as the Blacks president for the past three years after a two-year stint as coach and is ready for a break.
“I’ve given the club five years and there’s been a few ups and downs,” he said.
“I had a job to come in and sort out some rubbish and I feel we’re going all right if you look at where the club is at now.
“I’ve got my four sons playing juniors. I coach the under nines and I’m also co-vice-president of the junior rugby club.
“I’d like to concentrate on that, the business and spend some more time with the kids.
“I need to step away for a while. When my kids start coming through, I’ll probably look at stepping back in.”
Aside from finding a new president and locking in a committee, one of the biggest items on the November 7 AGM agenda will be securing a coach for the Blacks in 2016.
Players Nick Gleeson and Matt Vitucci shared the mentoring duties this season, but Gleeson’s departure to Canberra means the club will need a new coaching structure.
Robertson said the Blacks had already received some approaches about the coaching position.
“There’s been a couple of guys from within the club, not players, but people who have put their hands up to say they’re interested,” he said.
“That's good, but we’ll still put an ad in the paper and see who’s out there, like we do every other year and take it from there.”
Robertson said it was sad to lose the services of Gleeson after two seasons at the Blacks but wished him all the best for the future.
“He (Gleeson) always said he’d be in Griffith two years to get his feet on the ground after uni,” Robertson said.
“It’s a shame to lose him, but it looks likes he’s on to bigger and better things.”
