He hadn’t changed teams, A&G Engineering was holding it’s Footy Colours Day and Mr Russell had been challenged to wear the Parramatta strip to help raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation.
$440 was thrown in to see Mr Russell in the Parramatta jersey with a total of $2150 raised between the Griffith and Mildura A&G sites.
A&G engineering manager Tom Mackerras said while the day aimed to raise funds it was also a morale booster as well.
“It’s as much about having fun and letting people unwind a bit as it is about raising money,” Mr Mackerras said.
“It creates such a good work atmosphere.”
