Competition golf was abandoned on Wednesday and the Veterans competition on Thursday was also cancelled.
Last Saturday’s competition was played, although the cored and sanded greens made putting a lottery, some players handled it better than others.
With a large contingent of locals contesting the WRDGA Championships at Jerilderie, a moderate field of 49 players faced the start last Saturday.
Ron Virago took out A Grade with 37 points. He nailed a birdie on the seventh in scoring 19 points out, then added 18 points home, carding six pars to go with three on the front.
Alf Franchi was runner-up with 35 points, only managing two pars in a 17 point front nine.

He scored one better, 18 home, carding a four-point birdie on the 13th, nailed another on the 15th, rescuing his round with pars on the final two holes.
Wayne Henderson (37 points) won B Grade, missing on two holes in an ordinary 16 points front nine, then a four-point par on the 12th, another after a birdie on the 16th saw him adding a winning 21 points home.
Runner-up Roy Hosking was one back on 36 points, scoring a consistent 18 points on each nine with four pars. Bruce Smith (36 points) was best in C Grade, paring three holes in a 19 point front nine, he then parred three back nine holes but two misses saw him slip to 17 points in.
Runner-up Dave Curry (35 points) scored 16 points in a topsy-turvy front nine, carding four three-pointers and two misses, he scored on all the back nine holes to add 19 points.
Pro Pins won by Jum Dickie and Wayne Henderson. Par Threes (4th) Jeff Wiscombe, (7th) Ron Virago, 11th Rob Trembath, 16th Tony McBride. Vouchers went to 32 points on a countback.
A small field of 18 players contested Sunday’s single stableford in one grade. It was won by Rod McNabb (39 points). He carded a four-point par on the second to score 20 points out then added 19 points home with seven three-pointers on the day.
Brad Fawcett (36 points) was the runner-up recovered from a dirty day of 16 points out to score 20 in with six pars on the day.
Skeet Milne, Geoff Cotterill, Brett Dwyer, Sim Tuitivake and John Evans won vouchers.
