This was shown when the Griffith East Public School year 5 student was named one of the winners in federal member for Riverina Michael McCormack’s annual Anzac writing competition.
There was over 1200 entries from across the Riverina and Emma took out the Griffith Primary Schools section of the competition.
This was the fifth year the competition has run and it will return again next year.
Mr McCormack said he read all the entries and the level of writing was incredible.
“It’s great to see the number of kids, particularly from primary schools that entered,” Mr McCormack said.
“The standard of entry was amazing.
“It’s absolutely remarkable how well these kids can write.
“She (Emma) wrote a wonderful prose.
“The kids, they really reflected not only the mood of the Anzac centenary but the mood of their local community, through their writing.”
