Griffith City moved straight through to the grand final after defeating Yenda 1-0 in the first week of finals.
The following week, Yenda bounced back against Yoogali SC to qualify for the decider.
Yenda president Jason Wood said regardless of the result, he was happy with his side’s season.
“We’ve had a good season. We’re pretty happy the way the year’s gone,” Wood said.
“We are minor premiers, that was a big result. Basically win or lose this weekend we've had a good year.”
Wood said it could be the last time the side was together with a few players contemplating retirement.
“A few of us boys might pull up stumps after this year. It’d be nice to go out with a win,” Wood said.
“I’ve been playing 35s since the competition started and it’s more about getting together with the boys and having a drink afterwards.
”Everyone talks about it (retiring). It’s been a long season. We’re all getting on a bit in age and starting to break down a bit.”
Apart from the finals loss, Yenda beat Griffith City all three times during the regular season. Kick-off is at 4pm.
