Magistrate Thompson asked if there was any reason Vincent and Marcus Stanford’s cases could not be heard concurrently when the time came for the trial, as they were “co-accused.”
She was told there was no reason the two could not appear at trial together in future.
Marcus Stanford was set to appear via video link on Wednesday morning, but the court heard there was no need for Marcus to appear. The “vast majority” of the brief has already been served to him.
Marcus and Vincent Stanford will next appear at Griffith Local Court on 30 September via video link.
Marcus is charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder. His brother Vincent has been charged with the aggravated sexual assault and murder of Leeton school teacher Stephanie Scott between 1.40pm and 2pm on April 5 2015.
Their ‘bail refused’ status remains unchanged.
