The Hawks host the Sharks on Sunday and should be too strong for the visitors on recent form.
But Watson said TLU had proven to be a bogey team of the Hawks’ previous incarnation – the Bidgee Hurricanes – in recent seasons.
“They (TLU) have got a very basic pattern, but it works for them,” he said.
“If they’ve got a full side on, the forwards roll forward for a few and then they’ve got Jado Kelly that kicks the ball 70 metres and pings you down in your quarter.
“Then all they do is keep putting pressure on until you make a mistake.”
Knowing what’s in store for his team, Watson will make sure the Hawks are well prepared. The only potential problem is an outbreak of flu in his squad.
“We had a good session the other night (Tuesday), but there were a few blokes not there because they were physically too crook,” Watson said.
