Brian Savage (36 points) played the best to win the 0-18 grade.
Runner-up was Allan King with 35 points on a countback over Ken Alpen.
Bill Carter (40 points) had the day’s best score and won the 19-36 grade ahead of John Jefferies (37 points).
Pins were won by Geoff Smith (4th), Ken Alpen (7th), Joe Cudmore (15th) and Dennis Moran (16th).
Vouchers went to 32 points.
The first round of the Cudmore-Williams Trophy saw 15 local veterans travel to Leeton last Monday.
Leeton took an early lead in the competition with an average of 32.5, which bettered Griffith’s 30.
Round two is at Griffith on Thursday, May 14. Tomorrow’s event is again a single stableford.
There was a field of 44 players contesting last Wednesday’s mid-week pro comp.
Brett Dwyer fired one-under par 70 to win A grade with 38 points after shooting 19 on each nine,
He nailed birdies on the eighth and ninth.
Runner-up Peter Henderson also carded 38 points, but lost the countback with splits of 21-17. He drained a birdie on the seventh.
Graham Sibraa (38 points) won B grade. He scored 20 out and 18 home, canning a birdie on the 15th.
Tony De Marco (37 points) came second. He carded eight pars on the day.
John Jefferies and Tom Wright both scored 36 points in C grade, Jefferies taking the countback.
He scored 17 points out and 19 home, while Wright had splits of 18-18, with a four-point par on the 13th.
Vouchers went to 33 points on a countback.
The match committee has announced a weekly nine-hole competition.
Cost is only $9 for nine holes in a single stableford, and add $5 if played in conjunction with an 18-hole competition.
There is a package deal on offer.
The competition is open to full and intro members.
There is also a women’s and men's medley event. It will be played all week outside of regular competitions.
